Post-Ireland, post-Lake District, post-visitors, some regular living in London weeks.
- Yummy things at one of the Portobello Road market stands
- Geocaching has been fairly successful here. About 10 in London, a few in the Lake District, a couple around Ireland.
- Look! Fantastic and expensive food from one of my favorite chef’s and cookbook authors!
- We made a picnic lunch from this selection.
- Haven’t been to the Tower yet, but walked past it one afternoon.
- a wonderfully restored old music hall, Wilton’s, where we saw the very entertaining The Terrible Infants.
- This woman is average height. This pony is not.
- Next to the Natural History Museum. ‘Tis the season for trees and ice.
- The Royal Albert Hall, resplendent at night.
- the empty RAH *after* the Tears for Fears concert. We didn’t see it. We saw a (great) comedy show down the hall.
- But the next night, I returned to hear the Royal Philharmonic, and 400 singers from 5 different choirs, perform Carmina Burana.
- Phenomenal.
Last night after the show at Royal Albert Hall, I experimented with the time-lapse functionality of my iPhone camera. I held the phone during the 40′ trip from RAH to home (via 3 different tube trains). Ended up being 23 seconds long and liable to give someone motion sickness (YouTube link).
Thanks Diana. The Tower of London tour is really spectacular… The staff is ex military men who really take it seriously and know their history. Ms E Played in the orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall once.
